Mary Alice Brown was the first born child of Wade and Alice Kirksey. Her birth place was New Orleans, Louisiana. She confessed Christ at a young age and was baptized. She truly loved the Lord.
As a young woman, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. She started her career as a nurse at Christ Hospital. She worked diligently nurturing and compassionately helping others for 25 plus years. The compassion she had for her career spoke volumes to what her gift and calling was.
Mary had a special gift in the cooking area, baking and preparing holiday sweets. She also was a successful seamstress. She designed and made at least 90% of her clothing and coats. She truly was a gifted woman.
But, her first love was serving the Lord. Later on in life she became a member of El Bethel Baptist Church where she served the Lord faithfully. Mary fulfilled her Christian duties in numerous capacities until she no longer could actively participate due to her failing health. Even so, her faith in God remained steadfast and unmovable.
Mary Alice met and married John Brown. She did not have the pleasure of birthing any children, but she was a great step mom, great grandmother, and great great to many, many children throughout her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Alice Kirksey; her two siblings; and her husband, John Brown; two step children, Joann Brown and Donald Brown.
Mary Alice leaves to mourn her passing her closest friends Lawson Turner, Dela Bryant and Alice Mazion, and a host of family members and friends.
