Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Taylor (McNair) was born in Hawkinsville, Georgia on April 7th, 1918, and came to Cincinnati at a very young age. She joined and was a faithful member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church under the leadership of Reverend Edmund Oxley. Later, she joined Mother of Sorrow Catholic Church where she would be found every Saturday evening reading scripture.
She married Townsend Taylor and together they owned and operated Taylor's Café on Court Street in downtown Cincinnati. Mary worked many years in the food industry before retiring in 1989. Her joy was cooking and reading the Bible.
Mary was the sweetest lady you ever met. She would give anything to anyone and would take a cab or even walk to visit the sick.
On Monday evening, November 21st, Mary Elizabeth Taylor went home to be with the Lord. She died as she lived – quiet and with calmness of body and spirit.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Townsend Taylor and mother, Elizabeth Moore. She leaves, not to mourn, but to cherish her memories, her son, William Taylor (Charlene); her dear family, Jesse Batton, James Batton, Mary Colson, Dorothy Bazzey, Odessa Manor, and John Frank Rozier; her little "Sugarfoots" (grandchildren), Yasanta Wells (Reginald), Tarese Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Jeremy Triggs, Jonise Triggs; two great-grandchildren, Nyla and Christian, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She leaves with all who knew her, beautiful memories, faithfulness, goodness, cooperation, and love. Mary's family would like to share her favorite phrase –
"Thank the Lord for the Blessings".
