Mary Louise Fisher, age 95, was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 17, 1926 to the late Ollis Horton and Alberta Hayes (nee Brown). Shortly after her birth, her mother relocated them to Athens, Alabama, where they resided for a short period of time. Eventually making their way to Cincinnati, Ohio at a very early age, where she spent most of her life until April of 2003. She then went on to live in Nashville, Tennessee; Loganville, Georgia; and Las Vegas, Nevada, where she departed this life on February 25, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jessie Fisher; son-in-law, Otis Garner; son, Michael Horton; and cousin/sister, Alice Smith. Mary is survived by her beloved daughters, Pamela McKenzie and Nadine Garner; grandchildren, Diane Jackson, Candide Jackson, LaDon Ervin, LaJuan Horton and Shaniqua McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Brittany Jackson, Jonequa Jackson, Amber Jackson, DeVonte Fears, Dontavious Ervin and LaDaijah Ervin; and a host of other family members and friends.
Mary served on the usher board at Rose Chapel Baptist Church and was an Eastern Star. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, loved to cook, play cards, and was an avid BINGO player. She worked at Value City department store until she retired in 2003, where she was loved by her managers, supervisors and co-workers. Everyone that frequented Value City always inquired about Mrs. Mary's whereabouts.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a service to follow at Good News Church of God in Christ, 1063 West North Bend Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224. Burial will take place immediately following at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
