Mary Jane Jolly was born on July 11, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio and departed this world on November 9, 2014 at the age of 91. She has joined her parents, Harry Woodson and Nina Haywood Woodson-Taylor, younger sister Harriett Woodson Perkins, husband John H. Jolly, step-son William Edward Johnson, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece. She leaves behind (BFF) special sister Minnie Hawkins, son Raymond Isaac, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Mary Jane was raised in the West End by her Great Aunt Addie Rose Wilson, who she called Mama. She went to St. Joseph Catholic School. She loved music, cooking, and cleaning - but more importantly, she loved children - especially her grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. She joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1950's when Reverend Stevens was the pastor. She served the church in many volunteer positions. She worked at Rinks and then at Xavier University, where she retired in 1984. When she moved to Booth Residence she worked part time for 5 years with the Salvation Army Senior Day Care.
Mary Jane will be missed by all who knew her!
