PETERS, Mary Jo age 81, of Deer Park, Ohio passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 19, 1934 to John J. and Theresa Meyer (nee Schott).
She was a self-taught artist in all mediums, avid quilter, enjoyed woodworking and carving, gardening, canning, and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Bentley; great-granddaughter, Cathlyn Kyde; brothers, John Meyer, James Meyer, and Donnie Meyer. Mary is survived by her beloved children, Thomas Meyer, Virginia (Wesley) Wells, John (Wendy) Peters, Aaron (Julie Hemmert) Peters; grandchildren, Jason Karle, Dustin Thurston, Amber Thurston, great-grandchildren, Alisa Kyde, Alexis Taylor; brothers, Jerry Meyer, and Tom (Donna) Meyer; and a host of other family members and friends.
In loving memory of Mary, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, N.Y. 10001. Memorial Service will be 7:30 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2015 with a gathering from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
