Mary Jo Roesel, (nee Krekeler) age 86, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on, All Saints Day, Tuesday, November 1, 2022. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 18, 1936 to John and Josephine Krekeler (nee O'Brien ).
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her grandson, Brandon Michael Roesel and her sisters, Elizabeth Ann Bennett and Martha Jane Miller.
Mary Jo is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Kenneth E Roesel, Sr, her children, Patricia (Frank) Anderson, Kimberlee (Robert) Weidner, Victoria (Kevin) Koelble, Andra (Thomas) Craig, Joseph (Colleen O'Connell) Roesel, Michael (Sheri) Roesel, Kenneth Roesel, Jr., Gregory (Carolyn) Roesel, and Matthew (Anna) Roesel. She has 32 grandchildren and the great grandmother of 30 plus one on the way.
Mary Jo is the sister of Sr Barbara Jeanne Krekeler SC, Carolyn Sue Romero, Frances Rosalie Ryan, twins Eileen Theresa Jarrold and Kathleen Marie Dalton, John Henry Krekeler and Dorothy Louise Shanley. She has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was a Registered Nurse working many years at Good Sam. Then she continued working in nursing homes and did home health care. Her career in nursing spanned 60 years.
Mary Jo has a life-long devotion to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. She had an unceasing love for her children and her huge extended family. Mary Jo enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards, especially Shanghai, 5 Crowns and Canasta. She also enjoyed traveling. She made trips to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia and Rome. She made annual trips to Florida with the family and also traveled with her siblings.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati (45211), from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass, Wednesday, 10:30 AM, St Lawrence Church, Price Hill. Burial will follow in St Joseph Old Cemetery.
