Mary Frances Roberts, affectionately known as "Mer," was born on June 17, 1927, in Willailla, Kentucky. She departed this world peacefully on January 6, 2025, in Erlanger, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and countless cherished memories.
Mary enjoyed a fulfilling career as a sales associate at McAlpin's, where her warmth and dedication to her customers flourished. However, Mary's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, pouring her heart and soul into each relationship. Her loving nature, combined with a fun spirit, made every family gathering a joyous occasion filled with laughter and love.
Throughout her life, Mary thrived on spending time with those she cherished. From spirited shopping trips to delightful lunches, she truly valued the moments spent with her loved ones. She also loved spending time at church worshipping and singing. Her selfless heart touched many, and it was this commitment to family that defined her very essence.
Mary is survived by her beloved children: Karen (Jim) Cusentino, Susan (Lenny) Koester, and Jeffery (Ginger) Roberts. She found immense joy in watching her family grow, and she delighted in her grandchildren—Christopher (Daniele) Cusentino, Richard (Sarah) Koester, Laura (Kyle) Staskey, Jason (Rachel) Colonel, Adam Colonel, and Joey (Lin) Colonel. Furthermore, her heart swelled with pride as she welcomed her great-grandchildren: Maria Cusentino, Johanna Koester, and Evelyn Staskey. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Irene Roberts, along with a host of other family members and friends who adored her deeply.
Her journey through life was not without its heartaches. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Guy M. Roberts, her grandson, Jamie Cusentino, and her siblings: Lawrence, Marion, and Harold Smith, as well as her sister Barbara Roaden. The bonds she created will forever echo through the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A private graveside service honoring Mary's life will be held at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky to celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable woman whose love knew no bounds. As we bid farewell to Mary, we reflect on her loving spirit and the countless lives she touched—all the while finding solace in the memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
