Mattie Lacy

LACY, Mattie Lee was born March 14, 1941 in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to the union of the late Martha Brooks and R.F. Fairley. Zeatty Gilcrest of Natchez, Mississippi raised her. Mattie was united in holy matrimony to Archie Lacy in Los Angeles, California. She was a fun-loving person who enjoyed cooking good, southern food and playing cards with her best friends, Jeanette and Zola. Mattie departed this life on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at home in the company of her one and only child, Eric R. Lacy who cared for her since 1997 with the help of a great family friend, nurse Barbara Clark.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her son Eric R. (Domanic) Lacy; Archie Lacy; three brothers, Curtis Smith, Joe Lee Curtiss and his wife Beattie, Willie Young Jr. and his wife Minnie; one sister, Emma Lonie and her husband John; her loving nurse Barbara Clark and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Lee Reed and Charles Brooks of Mississippi.
