Melvin Rountree was born on May 31, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Julius and Wilhelmena Rountree. He fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on March 1, 2024 at his home.
Melvin graduated from Lafayette High School and went to serve in the U.S. Army. He and his son Khaleel moved to Florence, Kentucky in 2006. His last job was as an a appliance technician.
Basketball was his first love, he also loved to sing and clown around. He also enjoyed watching boxing and playing pool. Melvin loved his 1585 Dean St. Family.
He was preceded in the upper room by his mother Wilhelmena Rountree, his father Julius Rountree and his sister Cynthia Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son. Khaleel N. Rountree, daughter Ticara Leatores, two sisters Pamela & Elaine Rountree both of Brooklyn, NY brother Stanley Holden of Newburg, NY One Aunt Elvira McArthur of Brooklyn, NY nieces Tanisha, Leetisha & Shamayah Rountree of Brooklyn, NY nephews Tuquion & Shamel, a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins
his god brothers Gregory Reid & Kevin Rountree and his god sister Vanessa Fields.
His lifelong friend James Mack and close friends Kimberly Mack, Tenika Williams, Brian Morris, and Charles Caldwell.
Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 pm Saturday at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY 41018.
