Michael A. Bates, also known to many as Big Mike, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 17, 1971 to Catherine Slaughter and Michael Thomas. He transitioned over on Monday, July 4, 2022.
Michael is survived by his beloved Mother, Catherine Slaughter; Daughters, Carla Sopher and Ke'Asia Kennedy; Sister, Stephanie Bates-Slaughter; Brother, James Slaughter; Aunts, Carla McCants, Ida G. Grissom and Brenda Sanogo; Uncles Mack Bates and Mark Bates; and a host of other family members and friends.
In loving memory of Michael, flowers may be sent to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 am, with a Memorial Gathering from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. The services will be at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
