He was born August 18, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Luther Gilbert and Mary Horton.
Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Fisher; children, Diane Jackson and Candide Jackson-Esters; siblings, Nadine Garner and Pamela McKenzie, Belinda Booker, Jackie Gilbert, Lawanda Gilbert, Luther (Theresa) Gilbert Jr. and Patricia (Robert) Keyes; lifelong friend and partner, Willie Ruth Horton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Gilbert Sr.; grandmother, Alberta Hayes; brother, Luther Gilbert; brother-in-law, Otis Garner; also siblings, Steve Ruff, Lamont Pierce, Gail Carter and Joyce Gilbert.
