Millie J. Turner

Turner, Millie J., age 61, of California, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016. She was born in Tazewell, Virginia on July 13, 1954 to the late Frank and Marylena Sheppard. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Army. Millie met the love of her life, Tom, on a blind date while they were both stationed in Hawaii. Everyone that met Millie, loved her. She made a huge impact on the lives of many. Later in life, much of her joy came from taking care of her family, especially, her grandchildren.

Millie will be deeply missed by her beloved Husband of 32 years, Thomas L. Turner; Daughters, Kristie Merriman, Dawn (Steven) Ratcliff and Amy Turner; Grandchildren, Breanna Jackson, Allison McCauley, Abigail Nicholas, Kayla Merriman, Megan Nicholas, Harley Merriman, Madelyn Ratcliff, Kelsey Ratcliff and Keegan Merriman; and a host of other family members and friends. Millie grew up a coalminer's daughter in the mountains of Virginia, as part of a very large family with fourteen other siblings.

At Millie's request, funeral services will not be observed.
