Minnie Ola Faucett

July 7, 1921 — July 21, 2017

Minnie Ola Johnson was to some... Ms. Minnie, Aunt Minnie, Mamma Minnie, Minnie Ola, Min-O-La, Sister (Sista) Faucett, and to one - Mamma. She loved all of those people who came up and through her home in Cincinnati Ohio. She was a den-mother, mentor, teacher, disciplinarian, friend, and comfort to so many in the Johnson, Faucett, Ealy, Horton families of central West Virginia and Alabama who chose to migrate up north and make a new life for themselves and their families.

Minnie Ola Johnson was born on July 7, 1921 in Greene County, Alabama, the sixth and last child to Zadie Butler and Ben Johnson.

On March 23, 1946 Minnie married Willis Underwood Faucett in Berwind, WV.

Ten years later, in 1956, they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio after which they shortly joined Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Minnie was a faithful and loyal servant to her local church under the leadership of Pastor John Daniel White for nearly 30 years as a church mother and Deaconess. Within the past 15 years Minnie was a devoted and loyal member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the headship of the late Sherwin Q. Ealy and as of today Pastor Jonathan Brown.

During the past 15 years, Minnie has displayed the goodness and power of God by surviving Breast Cancer in 2003, and a stroke in 2012. She was finally called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 21 after a 18 month battle with dementia and chronic kidney disease.

Cherishing her memories are one son, Patrick Golston Faucett; grand daughter Malai and a host of nieces and nephews from the Johnson/Horton/Golston/Butler/Halfacre families of Alabama origin and Faucett/Ealy families of West Virginia.

Thank you Minnie Ola for your love, attention, care, and words of truth you spoke into the lives of so many over the course of your life. We will miss you!
