Miska Nanette Varner The only child of Michele D. Keller and the youngest child of Roy J. Edmonds Jr. was born as Miska Nanette Keller-Edmonds on Sunday, April 4th 1982 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Miska was educated in various public schools throughout her childhood. In 2000, she graduated from Finneytown High School, where she was an active thespian. Miska attended Wright State University and majored in all things drama. Miska was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and niece. She married Aqualis C. Varner, Sr. on July 8, 2005. During their union, they welcomed two beautiful sons, Aqualis C. Varner, Jr. and Coltrane Q. Varner.
Miska was so into theatrics that the typical sad/happy theater masks could be found everywhere she resided. Miska could be extremely outgoing, but she could also be quiet as a mouse (Miska is Russian for little mouse). However, anytime she was on stage she was she was the real Miska, reciting her lines as though she wrote them herself. Miska relished in combining her love of drama and love for God by following in her brother's footsteps by ministering through gospel mime. Watching Miska perform was amazing. She transformed into a silent angel dancing praises to the Lord.
Miska definitely never met a stranger and was considered a loving friend. She was employed by Anthem Health Insurance Company. Miska belonged to the African American Professional Exchange which works towards creating a welcoming environment of inclusion.
Even though today all our hearts are aching, we need to look up to the heavens and see Miska's spirit and smile! We need to dry our tears, suspend our sorrow and perhaps our anger, just long enough to remember Miska. If you knew Miska, you knew she was definitely one of a kind. She always had an encouraging word and a big smile on her face. She made her entrance into God's promised rest on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
In addition to her beloved husband of 9 years, Aqualis C. Varner, Sr., her sons Aqualis C. Varner, Jr. and Coltrane Q. Varner, Miska is survived by her mother, Michele Keller; father, Roy Edmonds, Jr.; her brothers and sisters; and a host of family and friends.
