Life's Reflection
Myra M. Jordan was born on August 22, 1953 in Defuniak Springs, Florida to the blessed union of Charlie and Goldie Jordan.
Myra was a graduate of Walton Senior High in Defuniak Springs, Florida and later went to University of Cincinnati, but had to stop to start working at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Service as a Case Aide for 30 years. She was highly respected and helped a lot of people in the community, until she retired from Job and Family Service in 2008. In 2011, she began to work part-time at Little Sister's of the Poor as a Pantry Aide.
Myra was a mother of two daughters, Juanita Jordan and Tasha Thomas, but was a spiritual mother to many friends and young people, inside and outside the church. She was an active member at New Christian Life Baptist Church and their choir, but received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1981 under the leadership of Rev. Roy Gabbard at Uptown Church. She sung with the Ohio Unity Choir and the Uptown Church Choir, she was also on the Prayer Warrior Team and a Sunday School Teacher, where she served her position faithfully and left a great impression on the young people. She served as a great pillar of the Uptown Church.
Myra was received into the hands of the Lord on September 24, 2012. She was preceded in her homegoing by her father Charlie Jordan; mother, Goldie Jordan and her sisters, Princess Copeland and Yvonne Copeland.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her two daughters Juanita Jordan and Tasha Thomas; her sisters, Marva Soumare (John), Carol Davis (David), Gloria Jordan and Sonora Jordan; her brothers, Charlie Jordan Jr. (Elizabeth), Adrian P. Jordan and Norman L. Jordan; her nephews, Frederick Copeland, James Copeland Jr., Rashon Jordan and Mantiola Jordan; great nephews and great nieces and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. She will forever remain in our hearts.
