Our dearly beloved Nadine Jones, fondly called "Deen" made her Transition to Glory on Sunday morning June 10, 2012. She was 73 years old and was being cared for at the Hospice of Cincinnati-Blue Ash Care Center. Nadine began her life's journey on April 9, 1939. She was born into the loving union and family of the late Deacon and Sister TB Reeves Sr. They resided in Monroe County – Forsyth, Georgia. Nadine was the fourth of eight sibilings.
After being tenderly taught and guided in spiritual precepts by her parents, she eagerly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 12. She joined the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. GT Terry in Forsyth, Georgia. Nadine happily participated in as many church activities as she could including, the Choir Ministires. Oh, here is a little known fact, Nadine did not always sing in tenor voice. While at Mt. Gilead, she sang lead soprano and could belt out any high soprano note that Brother Johnson, the choir director brought her way. Her favorite song to sing was "Christ Is All This World to Me". There was hardly a dry eye in the house by the time she and Brother TB "June" finished singing.
After graduating high school, Nadine moved to Cincinnati and began a new leg to her life's journey. God continued to pour into her life. He Blessed her life with her husband Joe and four beautiful children. God also provided Nadine with job security at the Marjorie P. Lee Nursing Home where she was able to share her Godly Fruits: Goodness, Kindness, Joy, Peace, Love, Patience, and Self-Control. She worked there until she retired in the early part of 2000. Then also, God provided Nadine a brand new spiritual base. She found and joined Christ Memorial Baptist Church and thus began her life of servant hood. This Fellowship was warm in welcoming. Nadine immediately became an avid bible study attendee, she joined the choir, where she served as president for many years, she also joined Willing Workers and Feeding Ministries. During her earlier years she loved to bowl, sew, and cook.
Nadine's children were definitely her earthly crowns. They are, Melissa her eldest, Joseph her second, Shirley her third, and Callena her baby. Oh how she loved her babies. But then there is her sister and constant companion, Auntie Annie Hinton. In biblical terms, Annie and Nadine would be each other's Ruth Naomi, "weather thou goest……" They completed each other. Jesus truly smiles upon the love they have and shared for each other.
Nadine was a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, and a niece. She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Melissa and her husband Chris Hillman of Jacksonville, Florida, Shirley and her husband Joe Moore of Macon, Georgia, and Callena and her husband Darryl Williams of Cincinnati; one son, Joseph Jones of Urbana, Ohio; one adopted daughter, Sandra Thomas of Cincinnati; three sisters, Annie Hinton of Cincinnati, Georgia Grier of Forsyth, Georgia, and Leila and her husband Charles Evans of White Plains, New York; four brothers, John Reeves of Fayetteville, North Carolina, TB Reeves and his wife Margaret of Dallas, Texas, Bejamin Reeves and his wife Mary of Forsyth, Georgia, Augustus Reeves of McDonald, Georgia; one aunt, Dorothy Stewart of Forsyth, Georgia; grandchildren, Kevin, LaChrisha, Shannon, Tiffany, Joseph, Tameka, Bethany, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Fantasia, Naomi, Samya, Camira, Isaiah, and Jesse; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
