Odell Evans was born in Columbia, Mississippi on December 24, 1935 to the late Simon Peter and Lusettie Conerly. She was educated in the Mississippi Public School system, she was the 7th of 12 children.
Odell was united in Holy Matrimony to John Evans, whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her was her mother and father, five sisters, four brothers, two children.
She was a faithful member of Christian Family Worship center under the leadership of Pastor Terry Montgomery, until she moved to Ohio to be with her children.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Elaine Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lusettie Bourne of Middletown, Ohio; two brothers, Shedrick Conerly of Hammond, Louisiana and R.L. (Shirley) Conerly of Columbia, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren, Patrick Bourne, Craig Bourne, Andrea Bourne, Melinda Bourne, Monica Jones, Adrienne Prince, Errin and Erica Bourne, Quintona Brown, Rome Bonner, Jr., Qwendolyn Jones, Darrin Bonner; 2 step grandsons, Christopher Callahan and Tony Callahan; 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She had one special friend that stuck with her even until the end, Mrs. Brenda Shields, we love you.
