Ollie James Carpenter

Ollie James Carpenter, lovingly known as Jim, was born on July 5, 1934, in Jackson, Kentucky, to Morton Carpenter and Melvie Jones (nee Niece). He peacefully passed away on August 13 2024, in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Jim led a remarkable life filled with love and laughter. He proudly served his country as an Army and United States Navy veteran, demonstrating his unwavering dedication and commitment to duty.

In his leisure time, Jim enjoyed indulging in his passions for golfing and bowling, where he found joy and relaxation. His love for these hobbies brought him closer to his loved ones and created lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Jim also maintained a strong relationship with Christ throughout his life.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Carpenter, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His legacy lives on through his sons: Jeff (Chastity) Tilford, Greg (Laura) Tilford, and Matt Tilford. Jim's pride and joy were his grandsons: Zak (Jessica), Max, Jake, Ben, Samuel (Abby), Alex, Nick (Maddy), Chris (Olivia), Kyle and Jarod (Jamie), along with his great-grandchildren: Bryce, Addie, Josh, Karlee, Eli, and Wren. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Hallie Mae Salyer, and brother, Jesse Carpenter, who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Jim's warm smile and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many. He was a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom for all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

Although Jim may no longer walk among us, his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his remarkable journey. May his soul rest in eternal peace, knowing he was cherished and loved beyond measure.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 with a time to gather from 10am - 12pm and a service at 12pm at Erlanger Baptist Church, 116 Commonwealth Ave, Erlanger, KY 41018.
