Opal Katherine Elswick

Opal "Kat" Elswick, age 69, of Owenton, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 8 2024. She was born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky on April 7, 1955, to Gilbert and Janet Risch (Manning).

Kat was known for her exceptional skills in baking and cherished moments spent playing family bingo and game nights. An avid Reds fan, she found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, with her family always at the center of it all. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, being her world and source of endless love.

She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Cliff Elswick, father, Gilbert Risch, and mother, Janet Risch. Kat leaves behind a legacy of love and care, survived by her devoted daughters,  Angela (James) Elswick, Terri (Thomas) Hoskins, Brandy (Bert III) Hanlin, Rose (Gary) Elswick, and, Ginger (Rob) Ellis along with a host of cherished grandchildren; Thomas, Anthony, Clifford, Cory, Taylor, Zac, Mathew, Kiley, Peyton, Kaleb, Bryce,  Haley, and 11 great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by her sisters, Theresa Risch and Patricia Tolliver, her brother, Michael David Risch, and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

A visitation to honor Kat's life will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a service at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. The burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park immediately after the service.
