Patricia Ann Loreto

March 14, 1956 — December 3, 2021

Loreto, Patricia Ann age 65, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 14, 1956 to the late Joseph and Helen Walsh (nee Andriacco).

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Michael Walsh, Karen Reagan and Stephen Walsh. Patty is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Remo Loreto; adored children, Nino J. Loreto and Maria A. (Matt) Yamamoto; cherished granddaughter, Nora Yamamoto; dear siblings, Tony (Maureen France) Walsh, Mary (Ron) Bellman, Tim (Susan) Walsh and Margie (Scott) Blake; nieces and nephews, Annie, Lydia, Lily, Joe, Patrick, Danny, Michael, Elizabeth, Maggie, Katie, Bridget, Jack, Emma, Stephen, Angela and Ben; and a host of other family members and friends.

Patty experienced her fair share of tragedies in her life, but she was always the first to be there for others in their time of need. She was so many things- wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and grandmother. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she spent most of her life there with her husband, Remo and 2 kids, Nino and Maria. She was one of 8 children and grew up on Queen City Avenue in Fairmount. She was a woman of many talents-she wrote Children's books, songs, held a job as a photographer, and also worked in special education. After her kids came along, she was a stay at home mom until the age of 45, when she went back to school to be a nurse. She had a unique ability to make an impression on everyone she met and cared for. 1.5 years ago came Nora, her beloved granddaughter. From the beginning, Patty always said they had a special bond and they brought each other so much joy. Her smile and laughter were contagious. She loved hot air balloons- they were a metaphor for rising above and a reference to when they sent her father up in a hot air balloon on his 70th birthday. Now we know that not only is she the heart of our family, she herself is our balloon- may she raise us up and continue to uplift us as she always has, everyday of our lives.

In loving memory of Patty, contributions may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance at www.ocrahope.org or Fernside Center for Grieving Children at www.fernside.org.
