Paul Norman Sr. known to many as "Nelty", age 61, retired decorated Army veteran left his earthly home and departed to his last duty station, his Eternal Heavenly home on May 2, 2014 at 12:30am. Paul was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 8th, 1952 to the late Pauline Wagner and Paul Norman Sr. Paul went to Lincoln Heights School. He joined the Army serving a total of 15 years. During his military service, he served in 5 combat zones, including 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was consistently evaluated as a strong leader who easily motivates others and possesses the courage to make difficult decisions. Paul was one of the bravest, wisest and most unselfish persons we have ever known. He was very humble and did everything to give his family what he never had. Paul taught his family the value of working hard. His love provided a healthy model for his family. Paul knew that he had been forgiven much and was quick to offer that same grace to others.
Paul leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his wife of 38 years Paula Norman; son Ah'kiyah Norman; daughter Swanissha (Gary) Lewis; grandchildren Rachelle Judge and Raviyn Lewis; brothers Carl (Teresa) Morris, Sherman Morris, Herman Morris, Spencer Wagner Sr.; Step-brothers Gene Norman, Steve (Diana) Norman, Gray Norman, Mark Norman; brothers-in-law Jimmy Wilson, Michael Wilson, David Wilson, Andre Wilson, Derrick Wilson, Raymond Chislom; sisters Joyce (Rufus) Mitchell, Janice (Spencer)Oliver, Marie Carter, Eleanor and Rosemary Morris and Naline Wagner; sisters-in-law Sandra Wilson, Renita Wilson and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
