Peggy Stegemoller, born Peggy Brooks on March 4, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky, bid farewell to this world on July 26, 2024, in the same town she called home throughout her life. She was a woman whose presence radiated warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Peggy's life was a tapestry woven with beautiful memories of camping at East Fork, where she enjoyed the peacefulness and created cherished moments with her loved ones. Her infectious personality was a beacon of light, as she reveled in all that life had to offer. She was adored by everyone who crossed her path, Peggy's love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds.
Among her many interests were cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, dancing to music that stirred her soul, and embarking on thrilling adventures aboard cruises. Peggy's proudest accomplishments centered around her role as a devoted mother and grandmother, alongside her dedication to teaching Sunday school and instilling values of faith and love in the hearts of many.
In the embrace of eternal peace, Peggy is now reunited with her parents Wilbert Brooks and Ollie Hopperton (nee Blackabee), as well as six of her siblings who have gone before her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those she held dear.
Peggy is survived by her beloved husband David Stegemoller and their children: Gary Bailey Jr., Stephanie Bailey, David Stegemoller, Tara Stegemoller, Amanda Chambers, Joshua Chambers (Amanda); along with 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her sister Carol Ryan, brothers Jim Brooks (Jan) and Tim Brooks (Peggy), as well as a multitude of other family members and friends who will carry forward Peggy's spirit of joy and compassion.
As we mourn the loss of a remarkable soul, let us also celebrate the profound impact Peggy Stegemoller had on all who knew her. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched. May she rest in peace knowing that she was truly cherished during her time on earth.
