Phylanthia D. Stephens was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 30, 1954 to the late Valencia (Warren) Davis and Armfield Davis. Phylanthia professed Christ at an early age, and joined in Christian fellowship at the Pilgrim Baptist Missionary Church. In later years, she joined the House of Joy Christian Church. Phylanthia graduated from Withrow High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended the University of Cincinnati, and later went on to study in the health care field. After the completion of her studies, she worked in hospitals and clinics. Phylanthia loved taking care of people. She worked in that field until her health failed. Phylanthia was married to Alfred Stephens, and two sons were born to that union, Alfred Jr. and Don'te Stephens. On Friday, July 8, 2011, Phylanthia gave up her earthly amour, and went home to join her eternal father. Her precious memories will be cherished by her family. She was a wonderful loving and God-fearing woman. We loved her so very much. Loving and fond memories are left with survivors: a grandson Vega Stephens of Toledo, OH; mother Valencia (Warren) Davis; sister Arenessa Davis of Detroit, MI, Myrna Davis of Cincinnati, OH, Sonya (Davis) Slaughter of Hepsavah, Georgia, Tahryn (Davis) Bryant of Cincinnati, OH; brothers Eric Davis of Cincinnati, OH, and Lajuan Davis of Atlanta, GA; nieces Jasmin Chapman of Cincinnati, OH, Tehmeika Dupree and Tiala Davis of Detroit, MI, Terri Slaughter and Nicole Slaughter of Hepsavah, MI, Brandy Bryant of Cincinnati, OH; aunts Jacqueline Jones, Gwendolyn Williams, Concha Hall and Eleanor Warren, all of Montgomery, AL; uncle Sherman Warren of Montgomery, AL, and a mass of devoted cousins, relatives and friends.
