Quentin was born in Crosby, Minnesota. He spent his childhood in Ironwood, Michigan and Milaca, Minnesota. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1938. In 1941, he went to Washington,D.C. to work for the F.B.I. Identification Division, fingerprint section, until 1943 when he entered the army. After basic training, he was sent to England with the Second Infantry Division. They landed on Omaha Beach on June 16, 1944, 10 days after the D Day Invasion. He was in five combat battles including the Battle of the Bulge.
While on leave, Quentin and Emmy Lou Bach were married at First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio on August 4, 1945. They had met in Washington, D.C. while both were working in the Identification Division. After his discharge in October of 1945, they moved back to Washington,D.C. where Quentin returned to work at the F.B.I. and started his college studies at Benjamin Franklin University. He graduated from Southeastern University with a degree in accounting.
Quentin entered the F.B.I. Agents class in 1949. After becoming an agent he worked in Pittsburgh,PA, Memphis,TN. In 1957 he was transfered to Cincinnati office where he spent the rest of his carreer until retiring in 1975.
Quentin is survived by his loving wife of 67 years. Four children Krista (Keith) Smillie (Ann Arbor, MI), Karen (Frank) Beierlein (Burlington, KY), Fred (Beth) Hansen (Perrysville, OH) and Kevin Hansen (Cincinnati). Also ten grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Quentin was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruth (Diedrich) Hansen and his stepmother Mabel (Johnson) Hansen.
