Rhonda D. (Morgan) Carter, the eldest of five children, was born November 23, 1964 to Ronald V. and Aileen (Daniels) Morgan. Rhonda attended and graduated in 1983 from Hughes High School or as she always called it "BIG RED, BIG RED, BIG RED, HUGHES!" After graduating from high school, she set her sights on college and enrolled at the University of Cincinnati, pursuing a degree in Business. Rhonda was employed at AT&T for 28 years, where she made a number of lifelong friends and countless memories. As committed as Rhonda was to her education and career, she was even more committed to God and Love.
Sister Rhonda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, attending church every Sunday with her Big Mama and Granddaddy. Rhonda joined Good News Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder James Quick Sr. Rhonda was a faithful member and served faithfully in the Youth Department. Although she was not able to attend church, her Faith and Love for God and family remained strong.
Rhonda's love for her family began with dreams of her husband; however, in her dreams his face was always hidden. As she matured; these dreams began to frustrate her. Being a "daddy's girl," the first person she went to for advice was her father. Her father told her that "when you meet your husband you'll know." In 1986, prior to going on vacation to Florida and during a visit to the hair salon, she finally got to see the face of the man that she had been dreaming about all these years, a stylist named Lawrence "Larry" Carter, III. A man Rhonda described as having the cutest smile and the nicest arms. Although she knew that Larry would be her husband, it was not until their first hug when it was confirmed for both of them. Over the next five years, their friendship developed into a love that united them in holy matrimony on May 10, 1991. Their union was blessed with two children; a son on November 2, 1991, Lawrence L. Carter IV, and a baby girl on January 4, 1994, Morgan L. Carter.
As a wife and mother, Rhonda committed herself fully to her family. She became involved in her children's school and extracurricular activities. Through this involvement, she was able to meet and become friends with countless parents. She was also a person that kids loved to talk to.
Rhonda departed this life on June 27, 2012. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald V. Morgan; and sister, Karen Morgan. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 21 years, Lawrence L Carter III(Chico); son, Lawrence L. Carter IV; daughter, Morgan L. Carter; mother, Aileen (Daniels) Morgan; brothers, Ronald V. Morgan Jr., and William Morgan; sister, Robin Morgan; mother-in-law, Naomi Carter; brother-in-law, Thomas (Stacy) Carter; sisters-in-law, Gloria Carter, Maxine McKnight, Marlene (Kenny) Sanders, and April (Robert) White; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Rhonda lived her life in compassion, putting the needs of all others before her own. Her smile, her laugh, her attitude, and her ways have touched the lives of so many. Thank you Rhonda, for all that you did and everything that you gave.
