Richard W. Lackey Jr. "Dickey" was born to the union of the late Richard Sr. and Inez Lackey, in Cincinnati, OH, on November 6, 1937. Preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Lackey and Ernestine (Lackey) Gwode. He was the oldest of nine children.
Richard attended Blessing Martin Catholic School and Wayne High School. After school, he began working at Marshmallow Products. Being the hard worker he was, Richard left Marshmallow Products and went to work for Stearns & Foster.
Richard worked at General Electric for 16 years as a forklift driver until retirement. After retirement from General Electric, he touched and helped many people's lives. He spent the rest of his years fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
On September 22, 1993, Richard was blessed with a loving marriage to Roberta B. (Wellington) Lackey; a devoted wife and stepmother, enjoying a union that lasted until his death.
Richard was a great brother, father, husband, and grandfather. He had a big heart. He accepted everyone as they were, and found the good in everyone and every situation.
At an early age Richard accepted Christ as his savior. He reconnected his union with Christ on July 15, 2012, at Tryed Stone New Beginnings Church.
