Rickie Hugh Niece, Sr., age 68, of Warsaw, Kentucky passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022. He was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on September 16, 1954 to the late Bennie and Monie Belle Niece (nee Sturgill).
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Caudill and fur baby, Leo. Rickie is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Kathleen Sue Niece (nee Murphy); children, Rickie (Teresa) Niece, Jr., Michael Shannon (Amy) Niece and Shonda (Nate) Byrum; fur baby, Jake; grandchildren, Kaylee, Kyland, Makayla, Hayden, Kate, Elijah, Brittany, Stevie, Derek and Megan; great grandchildren, Freya and Scarlet; siblings, Kelly Niece, Jim Niece, Sharon Rider, Bennie Niece and Sheila Niece; and a host of other family members and friends.
Rickie was a great man who was loved by many and an incredibly hard worker. He was a friend to anyone he met. He was an avid bird watcher and outdoorsman. He was a sergeant in the Army until 1977. Rickie loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a good provider and made sure everyone was taken care of.
