Richter, Robert D age 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014. He was born on March 22, 1930 to the late Robert and Lucille (Hudson) Richter. Bob has lived in Cincinnati his entire life. He attended the Cincinnati Public School District and the Norwood School District, having attended Norwood High School.

Bob spent his entire career in sales for a variety of companies, mostly in automobile parts. For many years, Bob sold property in Florida. He then worked for EIS Brake Parts demonstrating braking systems and selling brake parts. He also sold ignition parts for cars and trucks for Borg Warner. For a short time he went into business with his mother in the dry cleaning business. He was then employed for many years with Curtis Industries where he was trained as a specialist in locksmithing and sold car and key parts in the Greater Cincinnati area. He retired from Curtis Industries in 1995. He also served in the Army for two years in Korea, attached to the 90th Field Artillery. He was a code writer on an observation post calling fire missions between the lines.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 29 years, Mary Trushell-Richter and parents, Robert Richter and Lucille Richter. Robert is survived by three daughters, Susan K. Trushell, Ursula Hicks, and Anita (Ron) Durrett. He will be loved and cherished by a host of other relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Robert was an active member of the Masonic order to include Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriners and Order of the Eastern Star. Masonic services will begin at 7:00 PM.

Worshipful Brother Robert D. Richter was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Pleasant Ridge Lodge on October 24, 1969. He served as Worshipful Master in 1976. Due to mergers, he was currently a member of Norwood Lodge and Norwood Chapter (formerly Acacia Chapter).

Excellent Companion Richter was exalted in Acacia Chapter on March 13, 1975 and served as High Priest in 1980-81. He served the Fourth Capitular District as President of the Royal Arch Association on 1984-85.

Illustrious Companion Richter belongs to Henry A. Weeks Council and is Past Illustrious Master.

Sir Knight Richter is a member of Trinity Commandery, joining January 2, 1986 and served as Commander in 1992-93. He was on the drill team for 11 years and was a member of the state championship team of 1994. He has also served as President of the Third Division Council for Templar Advancement.

Having served as presiding officer of all four York Rite bodies, he was elected a member of Ohio Priory, Knights of the York Cross of Honor. He is a past President of the Hubert O. Auburn KYCH Club.

Other Masonic affiliations include Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati; Syrian Shrine; Royal Order of Scotland; Arra Chapter (now Dorcas), Order of the Eastern Star (Past Patron multiple times).

Father, as I sit in Lodge on any given night, I hear your lessons that are, to me, a light. Between these walls that men built with pride, are virtues and the virtuous, side by side. As I search for truth in men across this land, I know you walk with me hand in hand. For the mark I have made is but a rough draft, in your plan to mold me…..the keeper of the craft. Amen
