Here are some memories below shared by friend's and relatives of Robert's

"I will always be grateful to Bob for introducing me to some of my favorite folk artists and their music. There have been so many memories made in 54 years, I would be writing a book."
~ Lizz Corielle

"Briefly sharing two happenings.
"Bob use to play the little classical Martin Guitar in mom and dad's back yard while sitting on a bench. I had been playing electric guitar for a few years and one day, hearing his small guitars voice - (caught my ears). It was so soothing, compared to the loud music I'd been playing. And little by little over a decade, the classical guitar became the one for me."
"I purchased a 1969 VW Bug in 1974 and the car needed restoration. I dismantled the it in my dad's garage and the motor needed to be rebuilt. Bob graciously gave his time to restoring the engine with me. After the build, it was time to start her up and I had no idea what would happen when it first came to life. Well at first I was shocked. The motor fired up and the driveway immediately filled with blinding, thick dark blue smoke. At first, I thought we had failed, and the motor was ruined. Then Bob quickly reassured me that it was normal. Within a few moments the exhaust cleared, and the motor was running great."
"Good times, Martin"
~ Martin Weinstock

"As I reminisce about your dad, so many facets of that time in high school come to mind. First he was one of the Fla. gang. There were about 6 of us that went to Fla. between our jr. and sr. year. We partied and walked the beaches day and night. Drank beer noon and night. We had little money for food . For the last week your dad started having Cheerios with water on them for breakfast. It was very good."
"He was always easy going and looking for fun. I got a date with a local girl who had a girlfriend. I came home , asked everyone if they wanted a date . Your dad was the first to say, yes. So we double dated to an Elvis movie showing at the drive in. I remember your dads birthday was in Aug. , when we were down in Fla. We were sitting around one afternoon drinking beer and we had a delivery man knock on the door. Turns out, your grandmother had a birthday cake delivered locally there for Bob's birthday, Bob was first to eat a bite of his cake and wash it down with beer."
"Earlier I said he was easy going. Sometimes that was not his demeanor. If you were someone trying to run through the center of our line, you found a completely different man. I can remember more than just one halfback that couldn't get up after trying to run though and had the bad experience of running into you dad. He's one of the main reasons we were not scored upon in our league play."
"Lastly , I remember listening to him sing. What a beautiful voice. I remember especially listening to him sing solo at our school Christmas concerts. It does bring a warm feeling to me, even now as I type."
"With sincere and sad heart, I wish you all well."
Bill
~ Bill Becker

"Whenever any family member needed help with a move, Uncle Bobby was there to help. It happened a lot and it was amazing."
~ Fredericka McCue

"Uncle Bobby and Fritz were constantly terrorizing all of us girls with their threats of putting us in the oven or the closet with the coal chute. They would chase us around the kitchen and snatch us up to peals of laughter until they'd lunge for the oven or closet!"
"I remember going to one of Uncle Bobby's motor cross races where he wrecked and ended up with a broken leg! Pretty scary stuff for a little girl. So thankful he made a full recovery!"
"One year on Christmas Eve us girls were put to bed in the upstairs library on Oliver road. Anticipation was running high as we were trying to sleep when we hear reindeer clutter on the roof. Sleep still evaded…the next thing I know I hear Uncle Bobby and Fritz downstairs playing on toy telephones. Ring, ring followed by giggle chit chat! Still makes me smile."
"I remember how proud Uncle Bobby was when he brought Robert Russell Gannon lll home to introduce us. It was the same when Leah was born. He was so very proud of both of you!"
"He had the most beautiful voice. I loved him and how he along with Fritz and Torri have always been there to support me. I loved him and am thankful he was my Uncle".
~ Josi

Robbie,
"I know most memories will be of your father's amazing voice , his love of car racing, and his brilliance- mine is of a child with an amazing uncle."
"I feel I was very blessed to grow up with my aunts and uncles in and out every day. Uncle Bobby played a large part of my childhood. When we all lived together on Oliver Road, I remember him coming home from dirt biking, Always with a cast ( to a young child), a broken, arm or leg."
"Something that I loved was that Uncle Bobby taught my sisters and I to ride bikes. With Nona and Papas drive way being gravel, uncle Bobby put our bikes on the grass and would push us til we learned to ride, laughing the whole time."
"My most special memory of Uncle Bobby and myself were the hours the two of us spent just the two of us, while he attempted to teach me to play the guitar. He was patient and kind no matter how badly, I did, I did mention the hours he tried."
"One day I was home sick alone and I heard someone walking down the long hallway behind my bedroom. Uncle Bobby came racing over to the house, and when I heard him calling my name, I felt safe. He checked everywhere and stayed by my side until my mom got home."
"There is the wonderful memory of being on the breezeway with the kitchen door open watching Nona making Uncle Bobby beef stroganoff."
"With each memory I have a smile and a warm Love for him."
~ Jennifer Schaeffer

"Uncle Bob would always show up at every single graduation celebration and take pictures. Sometimes he wasn't even invited and he would show up. He was a really wonderful uncle. And of course, his love for my aunt Beverly."
~ Jennifer Gannon

"My Dad taught me so many things that shaped my life and helped me to become the person I am today, perhaps my tendency to try and do things properly. There are so many great memories that it is hard for me to share a specific story because in my heart/mind there is no ending. Dad, I wish I had spent more time with you reliving these memories before you passed. I thank you, I miss you and I love you forever!"
