Robert Franklin Stone was born to the late Thomas Jefferson and Gladys Marie Stone, in Richmond, Kentucky. "Bobby" as his family called him was the oldest son and one of ten siblings. He is preceded in death by both parents, his youngest sister Florence Renae (Wilkinson) Butler and two brothers, Thomas Stone Jr and Kenneth Stone.
Bobby moved from Kentucky at an early age. He attended Lincoln Heights School and joined Lincoln Heights Baptist Church at an early age. Bobby loved family and had a great desire to be surrounded by family especially at the close of his life.
He loved to give gifts to family when he could. One year he bought the entire Christmas dinner for his niece and her family. Another year he personally made Christmas baskets for each one of his children and his wife, their mother. The gifts were very special and creative. Each basket had a variety of fruits that included pomegranates, beautiful red pears and Christmas candy. Many family members and friends have shared their own fond memories of his giving nature.
Bobby enjoyed exploring art, music, and working with his hands. He had a special gift working as a mechanic, something he loved and enjoyed for many, many years until his illness.
Bobby was united in holy matrimony to Marava (nee Best) Stone and to this union were born six sons, Anthony, Marvin, Bobby, Rickey, Kenny and Ronnie; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany, Tony, Mario, Marcus, Selena, Jailen, Kenny Jr., Akyame Ishmel, David, Zamire, Malik, Yahmean and Yahson; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lenora (Stone) Williams, Grace (Stone) Wilson, Irish (Stone) Ware, Beverly (Stone) Bright (Charles), and Joretta (Wilkinson) Kidd (Larry); two brothers, Fred Stone and Michaael Wilkinson; three aunts, Kathleen Higgins, Florence Leacock, Georgia Person and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
