Ronald L. Gruelle

Ronald L. Gruelle, affectionately known as Ronnie/Rocko, was born on December 30 1946, in Covington, Kentucky He passed away peacefully at home in Walton, Kentucky, on September 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Ronnie was a man of many interests and talents. He was deeply passionate about farming, which he took great pride in. Ronnie not only enjoyed the fruits of his labor but also took the time to mentor many aspiring farmers, sharing his knowledge on how to start and successfully operate a farm. His love for the land was evident as he sold vegetables, honey from the bees he kept, and flowers at the farmer's market. Ronnie could make friends anywhere and would often strike up conversations with complete strangers. He was an Army veteran, embodying the values of dedication and service to his country.

Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a claim he held as one of his proudest accomplishments. Ronnie cherished every moment spent with his family, and his legacy will live on through them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Gruelle (nee Zimmerman); his sons, Craig (Sara) Gruelle and Aaron (Amanda) Gruelle; and his precious grandchildren who he loved to spoil, Ava, Emma, Clara, and Gus. He is also survived by his sister, Saundra (Rick) Riddell, and a host of other family members and friends who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Frances Gruelle (nee Horton); his father, Ferda Gilbert Gruelle; and his brother, Rodney Gruelle. Ronnie's spirit, kindness, and wisdom touched everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on September 19, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018, followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved Ronnie to join in honoring his remarkable life. A private burial will be held following the memorial service.
