Ronald Troxell, age 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 25, 1944 to Robert and Mildred Troxell (nee Hopper).
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother David Troxell, and his sisters, Judy (late Edward) Bennett, Linda (Danny) Webb and Janet (late Richard) Fay.
Ron is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Troxell (nee Dozier), sons, Ty A (Tammy) Troxell, Todd A Troxell and Troy A Troxell. He is the grandfather of Brittany (Doug) Frey, Travis A Troxell, Alexis (Dylan) Hamblin, Hannah Korb, Tieren, Theorie, Takoda and Tank Troxell. Ron's great grandchildren are Jaeleigh, Presley and Weston Frey. He is the brother of Charles (Peggy)Troxell, Carol Vanover, Shirley Hopkins, Sandy (Joe) Gargano and Cindy Colyer. Ron has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews
Ron was the definition of a good man. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. A good Husband, Father, Grandparent, Brother, Uncle, Coworker, Teammate, Coach, and Friend to so many. He loved his family deeply and he showed that in many ways. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family. He was the glue that held the family together. He was loved and respected by all. He never missed a game or life event. He lived for his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. His love for sports was a huge part of who he was and how he connected with so many. Whether you knew him as Ron, Ronnie Trox, or Coach Ron he touched your life in some way. Ron would do anything for anyone.
He retired from UC after 33 years in the shipping & receiving department. He enjoyed golfing with friends, attending sporting events, and listening to doo wop. Ron will be greatly missed by so many.
He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's which made the last few years hard for those who loved him. He passed surrounded by his loved ones. His family would like to thank his home care team at Queen City Hospice for all they did for Ron. If you knew Ron you truly were blessed.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati (45211) from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
