Whitacre, Ronald Dale age 88, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born in Morrow, Ohio on July 16, 1931 to Roy and Leona Whitacre (nee McKinney).
Ronald graduated from Blanchester High School in 1949, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ronald was a veteran of the Korean War where he was awarded a purple heart for his service. After serving his country he began a career as a broadcasting engineer with WLWT, retiring after 44 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Leona Whitacre; son, Craig Lawrence Whitacre; siblings, Gilbert W. Whitacre, Roy Leon Whitacre, Melba Parker, Arlene Cheney, Hallie Loy-Dragoo, Lorena Mae Schnell and Loretta Hobson and granddaughter, Katelyn Whitacre.
Ronald is survived by his children, Shelly Whitacre (Robert) Foote, Alex Vincent (Sarah) Whitacre, Alan Roy (Tamara) Whitacre and daughter-in-law Debbie Whitacre; former spouse, Ramona Whitacre; grandchildren, Jamie L. (Richard) Griffith, Cara L. (Francesco) Lionetti, R. Trevor Foote, Melissa R. (Brent) Mackey, Kate (Daniel) Schoessler, Matthew H. (Samantha) Whitacre, Jacob A. Whitacre, Alexandra M. Whitacre, Julia (Jeremy) Petchonka, Kailey R. Whitacre, Kelly Whitacre, Brynne Whitacre, Taylor Whitacre, Melissa Dyan (Juan) Rodriguez and Brent Whitacre; great-grandchildren, Katherine N. Griffith, Olivia J Griffith, R.R. Fredrick Griffith, Helen G. Griffith, Owen B. Griffith, Noah J. Kempf, Sidney J. Kempf, Hope E. Kempf, Trenton R. Foote, Breanna A. Mackey, Oliver J. Mackey, Elliot R. Mackey, Amelia R. Schoessler, Hannah M. Schoessler, Harrison L. Whitacre, Brynlee O. Rodriguez and Logan Jax Rodriguez; and a host of other family members and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a memorial ceremony to immediately follow on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions - 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
