Roscoe James Dawson (Jimmy) was born, May 22, 1948. Jimmy, as we all knew him, was one of a kind. When God made Jimmy He broke the mold, God said I can't have two of you running around. When Jimmy would have his beer, wine and dubbies, Jimmy was a laugh all by himself.
Jimmy also loved the Lord. He would always say thank you God, for what he has done for me. Jimmy was loved by everyone who knew him and came into his life.
To my family I would like to encourage you to be strong, we have lost a lot of loved ones lately and they have come back to back. I also know that it has been very overwhelming for us all, but again I want to say, stand strong.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his grandparents, stepmother, Loretta, stepfather, Larry and brothers Richard, Larry, Johnny and Anthony.
Jimmy leaves a mother, Dorothy Richardson, father, Richard Dawson, nine brothers, Ronnie, Paul, Lee, Donald, Carl, Kenny, Terry, Gene (Janet), and Quincy (Mickey). Seven sisters, Kathy (Leonard), Tanya (Harvey), Lafrances (Johnny), Dale (Tony), Lisa (Ship), Roberta and Gay Rose.
Jimmy wanted no funeral, he just wanted us to get together and talk, drink, be merry, and remember the good times we had with him.
Jimmy leaves a host of nieces and nephews, too many to name. He leaves uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
In our own way, we all love and will miss you, Jimmy.
We cease to see the road ahead.
We cease to understand God's plan.
We cease to be ready when our name is called.
We cease to understand it all.
We cease to cry when one goes home.
We cease to understand we are not alone.
We cease to forget that God is in control.
We cease to know God sits on the throne and today He said, I call Jimmy home.
