Ruby Mathis, age 96, of Springfield Township, Ohio passed away on December 27, 2020. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on May 24, 1924 to Wiley and Ethel Spurlock (nee Coldiron).
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Larkin Hinkle, and second husband, Hugh Mathis; son, Jimmy Hinkle; parents; and siblings, Bernice Dunbar, Phillip Spurlock, Taylor Spurlock, Fred Spurlock, and Hazel Spurlock.
Ruby is survived by her beloved son, William (Anita McCain) Hinkle; step-daughter, Arlene (Walter) Wilkerson; step-son, Michael (Pauline) Mathis; sister, Alpha Adams; grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Hinkle, Brandie (Ben) Scholz, and Lacie Hinkle; six step-grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hinkle; and a host of other family members and friends.
In loving memory of Ruby, contributions may be made to the Dayspring Church of God, 1060 Smiley Avenue.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
