Ruth Ann Mather (nee Inkseep), age 64, died in the comfort of Hospice of Hamilton with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Hamilton, Ohio, after a two and a half year battle with breast cancer.
Born October 28, 1948, in Norwood, Ohio, to Ralph and Mayme Rose Inskeep, graduated Norwood High School in 1966 and married Bruce Mather, January 4, 1969.
Native of Cincinnati OH, residency included San Diego, CA, and Olathe, KS—before settling in Ross, OH. While living in Cincinnati, Ruthie was employed with P&G as an executive assistant until retiring in 2000. She then renewed her career as an executive assistant with Sprint communications, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri through 2008, upon which she and Bruce returned to Cincinnati to be closer to family.
Ruthie "Tootie" was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping for shoes with her best friend, Judy Herzog. She also enjoyed visiting the Zoo with the grandchildren, German festivals and a good fish fry during Lent. She was a beloved volunteer at the VA Hospital in Cincinnati and her "can do, will do" attitude was an inspiration to the patients of Tri-Health Cancer Institute, located in Good Samaritan Hospital.
"Oma" as the grandchildren called her will be remembered for her Love and commitment to her husband, Bruce, children and grandchildren. Her great sense of humor and ability throw a dinner party at a moments notice. Her quick wit, intelligence and loving nature are characteristics that will be greatly missed.
Survivors are her husband of 44 years, Bruce Mather, three sons; Jason, his wife, Margo and two children Chandler and Brookelynn; Brian, his wife, Alison and three children Destiny, Shay and Aiden; and Michael, his wife, Emily and two children Caitlyn and Christopher. Also survived by her brother, Michael Inskeep, his wife Tina, and their three children Samantha, Sara and Scott, brother and sister in laws; Nancy Mather-Coletta, Tom and Shirley Allen, John and Sue Mather and Carol and Don Sanders.
Ruthie has been preceded in death by her parents Ralph, Mayme Rose and nephew, Sean Inskeep.
