Ruth Faye "Ruby" Houser-Cook passed away on Satuday, November 5, 2011 at 10:40 PM at Bethesda North Hospital. She was born in Cincinnati on March 19, 1937 the daughter of Ernest Houser and Grace Ann (Evans) Williamson. Ruby enjoyed playing bingo, cards, scratch-off lottery tickets, and spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and was also a mother hen to all of her nieces, nephews, and anyone who walked into her home. She would tell everybody all the time before they left her home or before hanging up from a phone call that she loved them and for them to be careful.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Cook; two sons, Jason Raymond (Faith) Cook, and David Wayne (Tammy) Cook; two granddaughters, Corin and Calyn; two brothers, Ace (Linda) Williamson, and Charles (Alice) Williamson; three sisters, Margie (Earl Malicoat), Arcie (Fredrick) Burton, and Donna Ingle; a sister-in-law, Rose Schubert; a nephew, Paul (Wanda) Simington, nieces, Vicki (Don) Mitchell, Phyllis Mitchell, and Marsha Salter and her daughter, Natasha Berling; Zane who was a dear friend and like a nephew to Ruby; several other nieces and nephews whom she loved and admired very much; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231 on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Byron Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Baltimore Pike Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Ruby will always be loved and never forgotten. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
