Mother Ruth Harris was born October 3, 1934 to the late Willie Gus and Ellenorah Taylor in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was one of 14 children. Mother was raised in a Christian home of praying, singing and praising God.
She departed this life on April 10, 2012.
She received her education through the Cincinnati Public School system, and attended old Woodward. Mother Ruth was married to the late Henry Harris on January 16, 1952. Two children were born to this union, Darrell and Crystal. Darrell preceded her in death.
She was a loyal employee of Bethesda Oak Hosp., and retired from there in 1998. Mother gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. She became a member of St. Mark Christian Fellowship COGIC in 1990, under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Gerald Bates. She served as a faithful member and a missionary, and was appointed as Mother of the church in 2006.
Mother Ruth leaves to celebrate her life: one daughter, Crystal; two grand-daughters, Damika and DeAzhia; one loving sister Amanda; one daughter in-law Harlene and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
