Ruthie Mae Hill-Bryant was born, May 13, 1924 to the late Henry G. and Callie Hill of Brent, Alabama. "Sissy" was the baby daughter of seven.
At an early age, she joined Antioch Baptist Church in Brent, Alabama where her father was co-founder as well as the first deacon.
After graduating from Bibb County High School, Centerville, Alabama, Ruthie attended Tuskegee University. In 1947, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and soon joined Peace Baptist Church. She faithfully served as an usher for better than 50 years. Her passion was "helping" by visiting the sick and shut-in of the congregation. Her motto was "be a willing worker". Ruthie Mae loved tending to her yard.
Ruthie Mae departed this life on Tuesday, October, 23, 2012 at 5:45 am at Woods Edge Pointe Nursing Home, Cincinnati, Ohio.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Earl Pat Brown (Jean), Cincinnati, Ohio; grandson, Frederick Little (Katrina), Aurora, Colorado; granddaughter, Tarenda VanVessum (John), Wichita, Kansas; great-grandsons, Frank and Christopher Williams, Wichita, Kansas; Jaden, Jeremiah, and Justin Little, Aurora, Colorado; two great-great grandchildren, in Kansas along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Brent, Alabama, Chicago, Illinois, Columbus, and Cincinnati, Ohio and San Antonio, Texas.
