She worked at various jobs during her life. Finally retiring from the Jewish Hospital in 1980 after being there for 20 years. Retirement opened the door for her to devote more time to the church, joining a bible study group and traveling to visit and spend more time with out of state family members. Post retirement she welcomed another grandchild and eventually 5 great grand children.
She loved her family dearly and was always there for them. She was always in attendance to celebrate holidays, births, graduations, weddings and family gatherings. In spite of failing health she attended family functions in her wheelchair. She always inquired about the well being of her loved ones, even in her last days.
She leaves a heart broken family who will cherish her memory and deeply grieve her loss, daughter, Amy Williams; grandson, Kenneth Waller, and granddaughters, Adrienne Kennedy and Felicia Williams. In addition to five great grand children, Joviah, Kemaya, Khari, Jalil and Kanayah who affectionately referred to Sarah as "Great Granny".
