POCKRAS, Sarah age 85 passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 in New Albany, Ohio, formerly of Finneytown. She was born on December 19, 1927 in Proctorville, Ohio the daughter of Howard Cross and Sarah (Edwards) Curtis. On April 10, 1949 she married Laurence Pockras and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2006. Sarah was a long time employee of both Northminster Church and the University of Cincinnati, from which she retired. She was active in the choir and social circles at the church. Sarah was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was famous for her "grandmother breakfast."
Sarah is survived by her daughter, Sarah and her husband Joe Chaulk; three sons, Phil Pockras and his wife Judy, Charles Pockras and his wife Debbie, and Larry Pockras and his wife Pam; eight grandchildren, Nathaniel, Isaac and his wife Danielle, Kevin and his wife Jeni, Amity, Jill, Tim, Moriah, and Hannah; one sister, Connie Winters; and nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial service will be held at the Northminster Presbyterian Church, 703 Compton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231 on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jeffrey Mosmer officiating. A reception in her memory and in honor of what would have been her 86th birthday will precede the service at 2:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be directed to the Northminster Presbyterian Church, 703 Compton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
