Sfc John Tewksbury

SFC. S. John Tewksbury age 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born in Montpelier, Vermont on November 30, 1931 to Lee and Effie Tewksbury (nee Gray). He was a retired veteran of the United States Army, serving his country for 38 years. John also served as a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Joan Tewksbury; his brother, Richard Tewksbury; and his son, Thomas Mittermeier. John is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Mary Ann Tewksbury (nee Schwab); Loving father to Marilouise (Lou) Bunker, Eugene (Debbie) Tewksbury, Debbie (Peter) Bessenaire, Jim (Jen) Tewksbury, Tony (Theresa) Mittermeier, Steven (Mary Ann) Mittermeier, Ann (Daryl) McCutchen, Christina (Dean) Dupont, Joe Mittermeier and Karen Mittermeier; his daughter-in-law, Tina Mittermeier; he was a proud grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather; and a host of other family members and friends.

In loving memory of John, his family requests Mass be made to Sacred Heart Church in his name.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 2733 Massachusetts Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45225. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven, Connecticut.
