Shannon Jones

Shannon Rae Jones (Winaú), age 64, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 23, 1958 to Francis D. Gilpin and Betty J. Gilpin (nee Redleaf). Shannon was the great-great-granddaughter of Chief Yellow Horse of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis D. Gilpin; son, Daniel W. Jones; and sister, Stephanie Gilpin-West. Shannon is survived by her mother, Betty J. Gilpin; daughter, April (Brian) Ludwig; son, Ryan M. Jones; grandchildren, Dominic Jones, Austin Joesting, Isabella Joesting, Hope Joesting, Chloe Joesting, and James Ludwig; great-granddaughter, Elara Joesting; partner, Mike Spirros; dear friend, Norma Johnson; siblings, Frank Gilpin, Jr., Audrey (Steve) Snyder, Jolene (Alex) Burns, Cindy (Brian) Davidson; and a host of other family members and friends.

Shannon was a big softball and baseball fan. She played softball during her athletic years and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. She was a very selfless woman who was devoted to taking care of her family.

Funeral Ceremony will be 1:00 pm Thursday, September 29, 2022 with a visitation from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at The Calvary Church, 11970 Kenn Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45240. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
