Slavka Damcevska, 82, of Cincinnati, passed away June 27, 2019, with her family by her side.
Slavka was born on October 24, 1936 in Oblakovo, Macedonia to the late Cveta and Mitre Nikolovski. In 1953, Slavka married her sweetheart, the late Vlade Damcevski. Together, along with their children, Pavlina and Ivan, they moved to Port Kembla, Australia in 1971 and in 1975 Slavka, Vlade, and Ivan moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.
Slavka was an accomplished seamstress and retired from Standard Textile in 2003 after 28 years. She enjoyed retirement caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, maintaining her beloved garden, and creating knitted masterpieces. She loved gifting her craftworks to her family and friends who will treasure them always.
Slavka is survived by her children Ivan (Christine) Damcevski of Cincinnati and Pavlina (Vancho) Mitrovski of Port Kembla, Australia; grandchildren Tony (Kate) Mitrovski, George Mitrovski, Anna (Jarrod) Bayes, Megan (Clay) Miller, Andrew Damcevski; great-grandchildren James Mitrovski, Marcus Mitrovski, Grant Bayes, and Adam Bayes; siblings Mendo Nikolovski and Zorka (Mito) Stepanovski; brothers-in-law Simon (Danica) Todorovski, Andreja (Blaga) Damcevski, Cande Kolevski; and many nieces and nephews.
Slavka was preceded in death by her husband Vlade Damcevski; parents Cveta and Mitre Nikolovski; brother Blagoj Nikolovski; and sisters-in-law Vangelica Nikolovska, Sandra Nikolovska, and Cveta Kolevska.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 am at St. Ilija Macedonian Orthodox Church, 8465 Wuest Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247, with services starting at 10:00 am followed by burial at Spring Grove Cemetery. Please send flowers to Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
