Stewart Thomas Jr. was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 3, 1943 to Stewart Thomas Sr. and Dorothy Mae Thomas (Black).
In 1970, Stewart Thomas Jr. was united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy Jean Thomas (Jordan) and to this union, four children were born. Stewart confessed Christ at an early age and joined The Church of God in Middletown, Ohio. He continued in Christian fellowship by uniting with Murchison Chapel, and then New Hope Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the choir and was the treasurer. He loved watching football and hanging out with his family.
He served in the United States Army in 1964 where he served for 3 years. He got out of the military in 1967 where he later started working at American Packaging where he served as the President of their union. He later retired from there and worked at Meijer's where he worked in the candy department and was known as "The Candy Man". He also worked at Medco where he worked as a mail clerk where he was known as "Big Poppa". His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Stewart Thomas Sr. and Dorothy Mae Thomas; son, Jermaine Thomas; siblings, Craig Thomas, Bettie McAfee, Calvin Thomas, Barbara Watson, Simeon Thomas; son-in-law, Antonio Curry; sister-in-law, Ann Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 50 years, Dorothy Jean Thomas; his daughters, Tanisha Curry, Tori (Chris) Gibert, Talya (Kevin Starks) Thomas; grandchildren, Jamal Curry, Asia Curry; his two brothers, Alphonso (Marti) Thomas, Robert Thomas; his sister Jacqueline Brown; his sisters-in-law, Diane Thomas and Sue Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, August 15, 2020 with a gathering from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
