Obituary
We lovingly remember Stuart Keith Stanton born October 13, 1952 in Cincinnati, OH. He departed this earthly life Friday, February, 17, 2012.
Stuart was the eldest sibling born to the late Mitzi Douglas and Charles E. Murrell. He also had two sisters, Julia Douglas, and Leola Douglas who preceded him in death.
At a young age he went to live with his Uncle Frank and Aunt Era Stanton, who raised him during his formative years. Stuart accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, joining the Lincoln Heights Baptist Church.
He attended Cincinnati Public Schools, graduating from Taft High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Stuart was united in Holy Matrimony to Vernetta Johnson, and to this union one son was born. They have celebrated 29 years of love, support and commitment to one another.
He was employed by the U. S. Postal Service for 21 years, until his health required him to retire early. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the History Channel, listening to jazz, and keeping up with his grandson, Aaron; after all that a good cold Pepsi would do him well. Although Stuart was a man of few words, he had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He leaves not to mourn, but to cherish his memory, his loving wife Vernetta; two sons, Dante Castleman (Khaleelah), Stuart Keith Stanton, II; and one daughter, Mecca Young; seven brothers, Charles Murrell, II, John Murrell (Pat), Warren Douglas, Randy Douglas, Clifford Douglas, Lester Douglas, and Eric Stanton; four sisters, Marsha Stanton, Charmaine Hardy, Linda Hollins, and Sandy Hughes; three sister-in-laws, Lula Shanks (Harold), of Canton, MI, Lynder Boswell (Alter), Gwendolyn Dean (Angelo); one brother-in-law, James Johnson (Gwendolyn); four grandchildren, Mecale, Whitney, Andre, and Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Zavion, and Arianna; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
