Sue Mason

Carolyn Sue Mason, age 68, of Fairfield, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019. She was born in Sophia, West Virginia on July 11, 1951 to Clarence Ellsworth and Della Pearl Jones (nee Pennington).

Sue was a devoted grandmother to all of her grand-babies. She had a gypsy-soul with a heart of gold and a zest for life. She enjoyed the simplest of things, had a way with words and she smiled with her whole soul. She never met a stranger and would give selflessly to anyone, person or animal.

To Sue, family was everything. While her children were young, she was a stay at home mother. She was the glue that held everything together. When her children were grown, she went into care giving as an STNA. Sue was a proud coal miner's daughter, a true country girl, and her home and heart were always in the mountains of West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 7 angel grand-babies; and her dog, Buddy.

Sue is survived by her beloved children, William "Billy" Garrett (Stephanie) Mason, Jr., Kevin Scott (Karen) Mason, and Jenny Lynn (Danny) Broughton; 12 grandchildren, Sadie Mason, Jake Mason, Garrett Mason, Daniel Broughton, Jr., Hope Mason, Ben Broughton, Chandler Mason, Michael Broughton, Sophia Mason, Alex (Ashleigh) Hathaway, Kaylee Hathaway, and Sarah Story; 3 great grandchildren, Luka, Ryder, Christian; brother, Aaron "Butch" U. Jones; previous husband, WIlliam "Pop" (Debbie) Mason, Sr.; and life long friend, Clayton "Eddie" York; and a host of other family members and friends.
