Susan Reardon Hunt, age 74, of Covington, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 4, 1949 to the late John Hart and Elizabeth Reardon (nee McCue).
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Skip Reardon, Michael Reardon, Tony Reardon, Tim Reardon, and Martin Patrick Reardon. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Hunt, Jr.; children, Tracey (Andy) Bracke and Gregory Lutts; grandchildren, Sarah (Rico Rodriguez) Bracke, Philip Bracke, Josh (Jessica) Lutts, Cody (Kristen) Lutts, Amanda (Lucas) Dare, Rebecca Lutts and Daniel Lutts; great-grandson, Andrew; siblings, Maryann (Jim) Pilbean, Daniel (Sherry) Reardon, Betty Jane (Morgan) Vance, Shirley (Steve) Brown and Joyce Hall; and a host of other family members and friends.
Susan grew up in Louisville KY, the middle child of eleven siblings, surrounded by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She enjoyed singing, playing box hockey in Shelby Park and was the captain of her high school volleyball team. Having her children early in life, Susan liked to say she not only raised her children, she grew up with them.
In 1973, Susan met the love of her life, Stephen at Kosair Children's Hospital. Together they moved to Northern KY with her children, Tracey and Gregory. Susan earned her BA in social work from Northern Kentucky University in 1979 and married Stephen on May 12 that same year.
As a social worker Susan was a fierce advocate known for her tenacity, resilience and compassion as she supported countless families, men, women and children through some of the most dire circumstances of their lives. She had a unique ability to navigate seemingly impossible situations, helping those who needed guidance and support.
After retiring, Susan had many adventures. She was a proud business owner of two fitness facilities doing business as Curves. She traveled to Ireland to visit her mother country. And she traveled to London, England and Toronto, Canada to study with the Modern Mystery School. She was also a proud member of the Jazzercise community.
For her greatest venture, Susan poured her boundless energy into sharing spiritual growth with others as the founder of Quantum Bliss, a holistic fair she hosted yearly over the last 9 years of her life. To say this was her passion is an understatement. Susan had a tremendous gift for bringing together a community of shared loving kindness.
Throughout her life, Susan was a light. She was funny, energetic, engaging and simply loved living her life. While we are saddened by her leaving her physical form, we are comforted to know she is in the loving presence of God Herself.
