Susie Mary Young

Susie Mary Young, age 90, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was born in Berlin, Alabama on April 14, 1931 to Charlie and Mary Cook (nee Fail).

My Mother wanted to be remembered as she always had a smile. She had a big, kind, loving heart and always had a kind word no matter what she was going through in life. She always said, "I am blessed and highly favored." "Trust in the Lord and be kind to everyone." "Show me love while I live." "Don't cry when I'm gone if you didn't show me love when I lived." Always said, "I love you more." "Give me my flower while I live."

Sister Susie confessed in Christ at an early age, before she moved to Cincinnati in 1952 after her daughter, Ophelia, was born. Sister Susie later became a member of the Greater Mount Rose Church under the leadership of Reverend Fred Parker and the late Pastor Leon Hatcher, where she served on the Mother Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Eddie Larkins, Sr, husband, Jeremiah Young, Sr; sons, James Larkins, Eddie Larkins, Jr, Leon Larkins; siblings, Christine Cook, Charlie Cook, Betty Abernathy. Susie is survived by her beloved children, Ophelia (Ronnie Croom) Larkins, Jerome (Eunis) Larkins, Terry Larkins, William (Vera Williams) Larkins; special granddaughter, Sharlene Larkins, and numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Larkins; nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 7, 2021 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Burial to follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
