Syreta Kay Duvall, a cherished soul who graced the world with her sweet spirit, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, in Walton, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 11, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, Syreta's life was a testament to kindness, love, and the bonds that tie us all together.
Syreta had a heart as big as her love for cooking and family. She found immense joy in preparing meals that nourished not just the body, but souls—creating a warmth that radiated throughout her home. Her fondness for spending time with her grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, as she cherished every moment with them, imparting wisdom and creating precious memories that will be treasured forever.
A lover of Elvis and the joyful adventures to Gatlinburg, Syreta embraced life with an enthusiasm that inspired those around her. Her laughter was infectious, and her gentle nature made her well loved by all. Syreta was a mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds. Her sweet, kind, and loving personality left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Syreta is survived by her beloved husband, Greg Duvall; her devoted daughter, Michelle (Andrew) Jones; and her cherished grandchildren, Victor Jones and Lyndon Jones. She is also survived by her dear sister, Debbie Baker; her brother, Frank (Julie) Baker; her sister-in-law, Gail Baker; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Clara Baker (nee Fuqua), and her brother, Donald Baker. Each of them remains a part of her legacy, their memories cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Syreta’s visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY, on December 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. She will then be laid to rest at Richwood Presbyterian Cemetery, 1070 Richwood Road, Walton, KY.
As we remember Syreta, let us hold dear the moments that she gifted us — her kindness, her loving nature, and the countless memories reflected in the laughter of her grandchildren. Her life illuminated the hearts of many, and though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit and love will forever remain intertwined with ours.
